Fire Fighters/EMT
PGS provides a
full-time (24
hours a day)
fire department
in accordance
with National
Fire Protection
Association (NFPA)
and the State
Fire Marshal’s
standards for a
fire department
serving in
accordance with
the standards
for applicable
fire services.
PGS may
supplement paid
firefighter
positions with
fully qualified
part-time,
reserve, or
volunteer
firefighters in
time of disaster
or critical need
as mutually
determined and
agreed upon by
PGS and the
client.
Incident
Response
PGS supports, as
a part of fire
suppression
services for our
clients, the
below listed
emergency and
non-emergency
response
missions and any
other missions,
as required by
the client. PGS
shall respond
to, but not
necessarily be
limited to, the
following
emergency
response
missions:

Various
types of
fires

-
Emergency
medical
calls
-
Hazardous
materials
emergencies
-
Vehicle
extrication
and motor
vehicle
accidents
-
Technical
rescue
emergencies,
(i.e.,
confined
space
rescue,
industrial
rescue,
trench
rescue,
collapse
rescue,
etc.)
-
Mass
casualty
emergencies
-
Mutual aid
requests
(where
coordinated)
-
Request for
support
during
declared
emergencies
-
Emergencies
caused by
weather or
acts of
nature
-
Low oxygen,
carbon
monoxide or
asphyxia gas
emergencies
-
Request to
investigate
odors
-
Request from
the security
department
for support
on
emergencies
such as bomb
scares/threats,
etc
-
Any other
type of
emergency as
deemed
necessary by
the client
Fire Prevention
PGS will
participate with
the client
Facilities
department and
Building Safety
and Planning
staff as a
committee to
review new
developments.
Fire Prevention
Staff will
review proposed
developments;
identify
specific Fire
Code,
Environmental
and applicable
regulation
requirements.
The PGS FD will
meet with
developers and
appropriate
staff to provide
applicable
requirements and
recommendations
for any project.
PGS FD can
inspect all
commercial,
industrial and
manufacturing
permits to
verify
construction/installation
per the approved
plans, and
compliance with
the Fire Code
and applicable
regulatory
requirements.
Dispatch
PGS is capable
of providing
fully qualified
and certified
911 dispatch
services. Our
personnel
receive the same
training and
certification as
local and state
certified 911
operators. PGS
provides all
documentation
required and
logging. We also
have the ability
through our
alliances to
bundle the
dispatch
hardware
installation and
maintenance into
any contract.
Community
Education
PGS is committed
to being a part
of the
communities we
serve. Because
of our
community-based
orientation, PGS
offers a wide
variety of
educational and
training
programs to the
public.
Community
education
programs allows
the public to
become familiar
with the fire
service as well
as provides them
with specific
skills that can
assist them in
their daily
lives. All
community
education
programs are a
service provided
by
PGS FD.
Administration
PGS operates the
fire department
and emergency
response
programs as
directed by the
client and in
accordance with
the organization
master fire
plan. In the
performance of
the requirements
we provide all
necessary fire
and rescue
service
personnel at the
level agreed
upon by PGS and
the client, all
equipment and
supplies as
required by the
contract, and
establish
response
programs,
selected
training and
education
programs,
procedures,
rules and
guidelines for
the operation of
a fire
department
within the
organization.
PGS uses the
nationally
recognized
Incident Command
System (ICS) for
the management
of emergencies
in accordance
with FIRESCOPE
and SEMS. All
fire department
personnel shall
receive annual
training on the
use of the
Incident Command
System, and will
train and /or
participate in
training with
all members of
the
organization.
